Trojans News · Trojans Boys Basketball have a turn around season.

The 2017-18 basketball season recently came to an end, with the Trojans varsity boys basketball team making their way to the District Championship game!

After back to back losing seasons, the team led by returning coach, Joe Arndt, turned the program around, and got out to a solid start to the season by running off 4 wins in a row. Heading into the second half of the season the boys were 11-1 and were beginning to earn local recognition through the sports writers polls. They finished the season as the #5 team in Central District, Division 4, with an overall record of 20-5. Within league play the team finished 10-2 in the MOCAL, good enough for a second place finish.

Coach Arndt implemented a system of team discipline and structure, and was blessed with a group of players who were willing to make personal sacrifices, and work hard to pursue the team objectives. One of the keys to the team success was a willingness to push each other towards improvement both on and off the court.

At the conclusion of the season there were league and District honors to be picked up as Ian Leach, Isaiah Smith, and Shawn Scarberry all earned All-League honors. Ian and Isaiah were also honored as 3rd Team All District. In addition to the player awards, Coach Arndt was recognized as the Division 4, Central District Coach of the Year!

Congratulations to the boys basketball team on a fantastic season!
